Task 2b: Reflective Writing

A diagram of Kolb's cycle of experiential learningThrough out the process of writing my journal I doubt I would have written as in-depth as I have done after reading through the Module on this task as it has made me look more into what happened then just writing the main events, I feel going through the journal critically has opened avenue's for more emotions and views.
Breaking it down and maybe taking a step back and trying to see my life through something or somebody else's eyes.

This is a great way of seeing how you as a performer may work best, personally I work better with Active Experimentation as I'm a get up and go kinda girl but that may not work for everyone else, we all need to find our ways of working best also I like to Reflect and Observe too because in looking back and observing previous work or events will change the way you think and feel, making you reflect on what happened and improving it,

On this task I felt obliged to put exactly what I felt at the time of the event's, but as time went on and then looking back at what I had written my opinions and my feelings changed dramatically, mainly referring to auditions.

  1. I'd be interested to know how your opinions changed? Was it a case of time passing and seeing things through hindsight? Can you share with us how you felt during and after?

  2. This is really interesting to see your opinions on Kolb's learning cycle. Have you got any examples of how this has been put into practice over the course of rehearsals or something.

I agree with Sarah on her questions of sharing your thoughts and opinions a little more. I like the way you have said Active experimentation works best for you, because we are all different and will not follow the same way of learning. Is Kolb's learning cycle the best way you learn from events?
